Mr P, half of the Nigerian music duo P-Square, has released his latest single, Winning, a mid-tempo Afrobeat track that has sparked both attention and controversy. The song, which focuses on themes of perseverance, success, and unity, arrives amid ongoing tensions between Mr P and his twin brother, Rudeboy.

The song’s production features a catchy chorus and strong instrumentation, with Mr P using the track to encourage positivity, collaboration, and celebrating one another’s victories. In a powerful verse, Mr P calls out the destructive nature of family conflict, urging his brother to stop harboring resentment. The lyrics reflect deep personal struggles, particularly within their familial bond: “Tell me why you dey hate on your brother, why you wan push am for gutter?”

Despite its catchy nature, Winning has been overshadowed by a public feud between the two brothers. Rudeboy recently accused Mr P of stealing the song, claiming it was originally written for his own upcoming album. However, Mr P has refuted these claims, stating he co-wrote Winning with songwriter Calypso, and that the song was one of several submissions he made for P-Square’s 2022 Legendary album.

In an Instagram post, Mr P clarified that Winning was created with the collaboration of producer Vampire Craze, whom he introduced to the P-Square team. He also explained that the song’s initial version had undergone changes to its chord progression, with his input and the help of his producer Goldswarm.

Tensions escalated when Rudeboy allegedly removed Mr P’s vocals from several songs intended for the Legendary album, even after both brothers had worked on them together. Mr P expressed frustration, claiming that he has faced constant negativity from his brother, particularly regarding his solo music career.

The twin duo, who have been a major force in the Nigerian music scene since their debut in 1999, reconciled in 2021 after a bitter four-year split. However, this latest dispute seems to have reignited old wounds, casting doubt on their future collaboration.

As of now, Rudeboy has yet to publicly respond to Mr P’s recent statements. The feud continues to fuel public speculation and debate, especially with Winning gaining significant attention in the wake of the controversy. Fans of the duo remain divided, with some seeing the song as a hopeful message of unity, while others view it as a direct response to the ongoing family conflict.

For now, Mr P is focused on his solo career, hoping to move forward creatively while seeking peace in both his personal and professional life.
