Spotify Wrapped 2024 has officially revealed the year’s most-streamed artists, albums, and singles, and the results showcase a familiar dominance in the streaming world. For the second consecutive year, Taylor Swift claimed the top spot as the Most-Streamed Artist Globally, followed closely by The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and Drake. Travis Scott and Kanye West also made it into the top 10, with Kanye’s collaborative albums with Ty Dolla $ign making waves throughout the year.
The Weeknd continues to break Spotify records, with a string of successful singles in 2024. His releases leading up to his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow included tracks like “Dancing In The Flames,” “Timeless” with Playboi Carti, and the Halloween collaboration “São Paulo” with Brazilian artist Anitta.
Drake kept fans on their toes with a series of diss tracks targeting rivals like Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, and Rick Ross. He also released a pair of three-track bundles, featuring hits such as “Housekeeping Knows” with Latto and “Circadian Rhythm.”
Despite a quieter year for hip hop and R&B, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” still performed well, securing the No. 2 spot for the Most-Streamed Songs in the U.S. and landing at No. 10 on the Global Most-Viral Songs chart. Other notable tracks on the U.S. chart included Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Tommy Richman’s “MILLION DOLLAR BABY,” marking a small but notable presence for the genre.
In 2024, Hip Hop and R&B didn’t dominate the streaming charts as they have in past years, but these artists and songs prove that the genre still holds a significant place in global music culture.
