The much-anticipated boxing event between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is poised to break U.S. records for the largest live gate in boxing history, outside of Las Vegas. The showdown, set for Friday, November 15, will take place at the massive AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where over 65,000 fans are expected to pack the venue for what promises to be an unforgettable night of action.
With ticket sales still strong, the event is on track to gross an eye-watering $23 million, surpassing previous records for a non-Las Vegas boxing event. Organizers are anticipating a substantial walk-up crowd, with seats available at various price points, including some significant discounts.
The headline bout will feature the return of boxing legend Mike Tyson, who will square off against social media sensation-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul. This fight has captured the attention of both boxing fans and the general public, sparking widespread anticipation given the crossover appeal of both fighters.
In addition to the Tyson-Paul fight, the event will also feature a rematch between two of the biggest names in women’s boxing: Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. Their original bout sold out Madison Square Garden, and fans are expecting another electric clash between the two champions on Friday night.
BAVAFA Sports, co-owned by Nakisa Bidarian of Most Valuable Promotions, confirmed the historic attendance numbers. The company tweeted, “Paul vs Tyson / Taylor vs Serrano is trending to have over 65,000 in attendance with a record gate for boxing in the US, outside of Las Vegas.”
One of the event’s key sponsors, TorkLaw, a national personal injury law firm, is helping to push the event towards record-breaking numbers. They’ve purchased a $2 million ticket package that includes exclusive access to pre-fight meet-and-greets, a custom-made ringside box, and a host of other VIP experiences. The ‘Owner’s Experience’ package promises unparalleled proximity to the ring, placing six lucky attendees in a once-in-a-lifetime position closer than even the timekeepers and judges.
The fight is scheduled to begin at 7 PM local time (01:00 GMT on November 16), and while the original date of the bout was set for July 20, it was delayed due to Tyson’s health issues. Now, after months of anticipation, the Tyson-Paul fight is ready to make history.
As boxing’s crossover appeal continues to rise, the showdown between Tyson and Paul is expected to be one of the most talked-about events of the year, combining the worlds of combat sports and social media celebrity in a way never before seen. With a sold-out crowd and record ticket sales, this event will surely cement its place in boxing history.
