“My school in Ghana is looking beautiful. Can’t wait until it’s finished… sending my love and a big thank you to Pencils of Promise for giving me the opportunity to help change lives,” Ja Rule wrote in his Instagram caption.

The project, which began in April of this year, sees Ja Rule and his wife, Aisha Atkins, working together with Pencils of Promise to build a six-unit classroom block. This school-building initiative is part of Ja Rule’s long-standing commitment to education, a cause he has supported for years. In 2002, the artist co-founded L.I.F.E. (Love Ignites Freedom & Education), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for young people.

The construction progress includes the completion of the classroom block’s framework and the installation of the roof. Fans were able to see the photos of the structure, showing how the building is starting to take shape. Ja Rule previously shared his excitement for the project earlier this year, when he traveled to Ghana to kick off the construction. “I’m also building a school in Ghana. Can’t wait to go and break ground… Rule love the kids!!!” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a series of emojis.

This initiative marks Ja Rule’s latest contribution to the education sector, following his completion of Harvard Business School’s online certification program in Entrepreneurship Essentials. His efforts in Ghana are similar to those of fellow rapper Lil Jon, who also partnered with Pencils of Promise in 2017 to open two schools in Ghana.

Pencils of Promise has been instrumental in improving educational infrastructure across Africa, and this partnership is helping to provide students in the Nuaso region with much-needed facilities. The building of this new school follows a donation from Ja Rule, reinforcing his dedication to helping children in underserved communities access quality education.
