An herbalist from Kuchibuyi Village, Abuja, is currently receiving treatment in the hospital after a dangerous self-experiment went wrong. Ismail Usman, who allegedly attempted to test the effectiveness of a homemade “bulletproof” charm, sustained serious injuries when the charm failed to protect him during the experiment.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 23, 2024. According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Usman was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for immediate medical attention after sustaining life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for further treatment.
The police, responding to a distress call from a local resident, Shandam Michael, conducted a search at Usman’s residence. During the search, they recovered a homemade firearm and a variety of charms, which were part of Usman’s reckless experiment.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Usman is expected to face charges related to the unlawful possession of firearms and reckless endangerment, under the relevant sections of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria. The police have emphasized that investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the incident.
