Finnish authorities have taken significant legal action against Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafran activist, by freezing his assets and seizing those linked to companies connected to him and four of his alleged associates, who are also in custody.
Ekpa, who has been detained for several weeks, is facing charges related to terrorism, including incitement to violence and financing terrorism. According to reports from Finnish news outlet Yle, Ekpa is being held at Kylmäkoski prison, a high-security facility located in Akaa, Finland, known for its stringent conditions and reputation as one of the toughest prisons in the world.
The arrest of Ekpa and his associates occurred approximately four weeks ago, following an investigation into their involvement in activities linked to terrorism. Ekpa is specifically charged with public incitement to commit crimes with a terrorist intent.
