The countdown is on for the 2025 Grammy Awards, with the highly anticipated nominations set to be revealed this Friday, November 8, 2024. The announcement will take place during a live-streamed event, broadcast across the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel and the official Grammy website, beginning at 8 a.m. Pacific / 11 a.m. Eastern. The pre-show will kick off 15 minutes earlier, featuring a star-studded lineup of hosts, including Gayle King, Jim Gaffigan, and several past Grammy winners such as Brandy Clark, Kirk Franklin, Kylie Minogue, Mark Ronson, Hayley Williams, and last year’s Best New Artist winner, Victoria Monét.
The 2025 ceremony promises to be another exciting year for music, but only recordings that were commercially released in the United States between September 16, 2023, and August 30, 2024, will be eligible for nomination. This means fans shouldn’t expect to see albums like Future’s Mixtape Pluto or Tyler, The Creator’s Chromakopia making the cut. However, collaborations like Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You could still make waves with nods in other categories.
As always, the Grammys bring a certain unpredictability. This year, many are asking whether genre-defying superstars Beyoncé and Post Malone will make their mark in the country music categories, following the success of their albums Cowboy Carter and F-1 Trillion, respectively. Additionally, there’s buzz around Shaboozey’s viral hit A Bar Song (Tipsy), which blends country with a nod to J Kwon’s 2004 rap anthem Tipsy—could this unique track dominate the nominations?
